The month of September is a busy one for most. Kids are back to school, the Carolina Panthers kick off their football season, and lazy summer days make way for fall fun.
September is a big month at Surf City Dental too, as it is Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM). DICAM is an initiative started by the Organization for Safety, Asepsis, and Prevention. Proudly, 2021 is the sixth year of this successful campaign!
DICAM is crucial in raising awareness of the dental community’s responsibility to manage infection control. Two key measures at Surf City Dental that are taken very seriously are cleanliness and patient safety.
Surf City Dental Keeps You Safe
You can trust that Surf City Dental does things the right way to provide dependable care every time you visit us.
Hand Cleanliness
Keeping our hands clean greatly reduces the spread of germs. We wash our hands in-between every patient visit, for maximum safety. Due to our heightened awareness to reduce germs, we ask that you fight this along with us when you come into the Surf City Dental office.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The nature of our business is treating our patients in close proximity. Personal protective equipment is a key part of our practice, and we never treat anyone without it!
Equipment Sterilization
We follow a specific equipment sterilization plan to protect you from germs. Our instruments are checked thoroughly before every use.
Our Promise: A Happy, Healthy Mouth!
We work to keep our space clean of infection, similar to your efforts to fight off your own dental infections. This daily routine will keep the smile on, and infections out of your mouth!
- Brush and floss twice a day.
- Avoid sugary sweets that feed bacteria.
- Watch out for signs of infection, including swollen gums, pain, and discolored teeth.
- Visit your dental provider regularly!
At Surf City Dental, we do our part in managing onsite dental infection control for our patients’ peace of mind. If you want to learn more about our sanitary practices, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Team up with Surf City Dental to increase awareness of dental infections. Together, we can ensure that everyone is smiling bright and healthy heading into the holiday season!
